Meet Cherla

I am trained in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki at The Reiki Center in Columbus, Ohio, and am a Reiki Master Teacher, thanks to Linda                 Haley, Kaye Smith, and many other generous Reiki teachers.

 I  have practiced Reiki since 1993, guided by two additional loving

 Reiki Masters. 

I have retired from four decades in the helping professions as a social worker and a clinical psychologist. I am now devoting my attention to modalities that assist body, mind, and spirit through Reiki and other energy techniques.

At The Cherla Touch, I encourage your own natural healing on all levels to bring rest and relief as you pause and allow self-care to

become a priority, in a safe, supportive environment.

No. Reiki is a relaxation practice and no prior experience or belief is required.

At the initial session, there will be an information and permission sheet to complete that will take about 5 minutes. We will discuss any areas of discomfort that you have experienced for our focus. I will ask you if you are comfortable with light touch or a touchless treatment. You will lay on a massage table, face up, with your back supported by a wedge pillow.  I will begin treatment at your head and will treat other areas of the body, as is comfortable for you.  I will often check your chakra centers to move toward balancing the energies in your system. When the treatment is finished, I will spend some time helping you ground while you sit up and process the session, if you choose.

The session will take approximately and an hour, including pre-check, treatment, grounding and processing.

Reiki can be used to promote relaxation, reduce stress and support the body's natural healing process.

Some people seek Reiki because they are feeling overwhelmed or out-of-sorts. Others want to feel some relaxation due to pain they have been experiencing. Some desire to feel more connected to their body. Some determine they could benefit from some refocusing and calming of the spirit. Others want to prepare their bodies and minds for an upcoming event or to support realignment after an event. 

Distance Reiki can be achieved through phone contact. After a brief check-in to discuss your areas of discomfort, we will hang up the phone and I can treat you while you are comfortable in your home. I will text when I am finished, then will call you to process the session.

There will be some talking as I tell you the areas I am treating. Sometimes there will be questions or comments that arise. You have your choice about having a quiet session or one that includes more dialogue. Some people are so relaxed that they fall asleep during a session. 

Wear comfortable clothing. You will remain clothed throughout the session. You may remove your shoes if you want.

No preparation is needed. I do ask that you to turn off your phone during the session. I ask for 24 hours advanced notice if you need to cancel.

Everyone's experience is different. Many people feel relaxed and calm. Others feel refreshed and experience a new sense of clarity. Some notice subtle shifts over time. 

Internet sources report $20 an hour for trainees to $250 an hour for Master Level practitioners. Cherla's introductory rate is $65 for approximately an hour session.
